Crunchyroll Manga in India: what changed in October 2026
Crunchyroll Manga launched in India on 8 October 2026 with 250+ English-language manga and light-novel volumes, bundled only into the Ultimate Fan tier. Two things to know before subscribing for manga: (1) manga is not included in the Fan or Mega Fan tiers per launch coverage, and (2) the ₹299/month or ₹999/year Ultimate Fan figures are Reported from launch coverage — one conflicting pre-launch figure (₹109) also circulated, so verify on Crunchyroll's official premium page at checkout. Hindi manga: the honest picture
Official Hindi manga in India is real but limited and emerging — not a broad, mature catalogue. Do not expect the whole library in Hindi yet.
- Kodansha India (print): Kodansha announced in June 2026 that it would print manga locally in India (a joint venture: Kodansha 81%, Dai Nippon Printing 14%, IJ Kakehashi Services 5%), aiming for around 200 titles a year in Hindi and English. On 28 September 2026 it announced its first five titles: Attack on Titan, BLUE LOCK, Gachiakuta, Witch Hat Atelier and A Silent Voice. Crucially, Kodansha India will physically publish these books but will not publish e-books. Release dates and prices for the Hindi editions: TBA.
- Shueisha MANGA MILLION (digital): launched August 2026 in Hindi and English among 100+ languages, with 1M+ translated pages from 400 titles at launch (including One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, SPY×FAMILY, Chainsaw Man). It is free without registration for a "limited time" that Shueisha has not specified — a launch window, not a permanent free Hindi library.
- Everything else is English-first: MANGA Plus in India is English; VIZ, K MANGA and Crunchyroll Manga India are English-language services. No broad official Hindi digital manga catalogue was found on any other platform.
What to avoid
Unofficial scanlation and aggregator sites dominate many manga search results, but they are not legal sources and this guide does not link or name them. If a site offers full volumes of licensed manga free with no publisher attached, it is not a legal source — stick to the platforms above. "Free manga" queries are heavily piracy-adjacent; the legal free options are MANGA Plus, VIZ free chapters, and WEBTOON Originals.
Why this guide beats the older India guides
Last checked: 28 October 2026. Prices below were checked on official pages on that date; anything unverified is left TBA rather than filled with a stale figure.
- Old guides show ₹290/month for VIZ — that is the 2023 figure. VIZ’s current US list price is $3.99/month for Shonen Jump (VIZ’s own FAQ, checked 28 October 2026), and no official INR price is published. This page leaves the INR figure TBA instead of repeating the stale ₹290.
- Old guides still recommend comiXology — do not install it for manga. Amazon retired the standalone comiXology app on 4 December 2023 and moved its comics and manga into the Kindle app (announced November 2023). Any guide sending you to comiXology in 2026 is years out of date; use Kindle for Amazon manga volumes.
- What ~3-year-old guides miss entirely: Crunchyroll Manga’s India launch (October 2026), K MANGA in India (February 2025), and Kodansha India’s Hindi print editions — all postdate the best-known older guide.
